Developing an Interactive Intranet Application for Ferring Pharmaceuticals

Product Context: Ferring Pharmaceuticals – A multinational biopharmaceutical company specializing in reproductive medicine, maternal health, and gastroenterology. Ferring Pharmaceuticals needed an interactive, dynamic, and responsive intranet application to provide medical professionals and employees with detailed information about pharmaceutical products. The application, eWelcome PTA, was designed to enhance user engagement, product discovery, and accessibility of medical information.

Key contributions included:

Technical Challenges and Solution:

The challenge was to develop an intuitive and engaging user experience that allowed users to navigate through three distinct patient groups: men and women, children, and pregnant women. Each group had a dedicated product catalog, requiring smooth navigation, real-time interactivity, and precise anatomical visualization of where each product was used.

As a Senior UI Developer, I was responsible for designing and developing the interactive front-end using VueJS and ReactJS, ensuring a seamless and visually appealing experience. To achieve dynamic product visualization, I implemented SVG-based anatomical illustrations that highlighted the relevant body areas when hovering over a product.

To enhance content management flexibility, I developed an admin dashboard that allowed site administrators to add, modify, or delete product information dynamically. This ensured that the application remained up-to-date without requiring developer intervention.

The application needed to be fully responsive to accommodate different screen sizes, from desktops to tablets used in medical offices. I used CSS Grid, Flexbox, and Bootstrap to ensure a fluid and adaptive design.
